The purpose of this paper is to analyze the characteristics of psychology in the secondary education curriculum of North Korea through analyzing the psychological articles of the "Kyowon Sonjon Suchop(Reference Book of Teachers)" published after 2003. This paper aims to reveal the process of North Korean psychology by showing the process of cultivating "the revolutionary talent of the knowledge economy possessing logical thinking ability and business ability with people" as the main body type communist who is the psychological goal of the North Korean authorities.
Psychological research in North Korea is valuable as a study of the contents and characteristics of North Korean psychology from the establishment of the socialist system since 1953 to the present day until 2018. In this paper, we tried to reconstruct the scope of North Korean psychology and to organize the content in three dimensions from the existing study which focused on North Korean education, philosophy, and Juche idea.
This paper covers the articles on psychology of education section of the 58th issue from "March 1, 2003” to "June 2, 2018”. I focused on the title of the article and classified it as a ‘psychology' article through analysis. In order to reveal the psychology of North Korea, we selected open - ended content analysis and conducted open coding.
As a result, the categories for analysis are defined as: "Psychology Classification”, "Educational Method”, "Teaching Method”, "Psychology Teacher” and "Educational Modern Informatization”. Through analysis, we have summarized the characteristics of North Korean psychology since 2003.
The overall characteristics of North Korean psychology are as follows. First, the process of change from subject psychology to our psychology has been revealed. Based on the subject psychology, the intention was to use general psychology in the educational field in accordance with the global education trends. This reflects the latest data in psychological theories and allows them to construct modern data.
Second, Educational Psychology, School Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, and reflected an academic curriculum of the schools. The introduction of general psychology promoted the students' psychological health, conducted the psychological evaluation, and the psychological evaluation also appeared as school psychologists and school psychologists. The purpose of the psychological evaluation was to find out how to use it as a tool for the verification of ideology.
Third, I was able to confirm that I wanted to develop thinking and application skills by integrating psychology. In the course of psychology education, teachers were required to observe and study the knowledge of psychology professionally by reflecting 'self - standing worker'.
We found the following characteristics of North Korean psychology. First, North Korean authorities criticized general psychology and Marxist psychology and developed socialist psychology and socialist child psychology. Socialist psychology and socialist child psychology are based on the Juche idea and are reflected in the curriculum to emphasize ideological psychology.
Second, North Korea psychology has been done in connection with the formation of a revolutionary world view beyond the understanding of human psychology and consciousness. This appeared to be a willingness to defend their socialism idealogy against the imperialist psychological warfare.
Third, in the knowledge economy era, two axis of human resource development were trained to have logical thinking ability and business ability with people. This is the ability to solve social and political problems from the standpoint of Juche ideology and Party policy when they become a member after graduating from school, and it has been shown that they encourage the hearts of North Koreans and strengthen them to be loyal to the party.
In conclusion, this paper, Analysis of "Kyowon Sonjon Suchop(Reference Book of Teachers)" shows that 'knowledge of human psychology and consciousness is abundant so that people can understand people, North Korean psychology to be appropriate to the goal of training 'human resources education'. This trend is understood to represent the talented person in the age of knowledge economy presented by the North Korean authorities. North Korean psychology seems to emphasize human psychology and consciousness and focus on individual psychology. However, in light of the emphasis on ideological consciousness, it seems to have an ideological form for strengthening consciousness of social group.

본 논문의 목적은 2003년 이후에 발간한 「교원선전수첩」 심리학 기사 분석을 통해 북한의 중등교육과정에 등장한 심리학 내용을 밝히고 그 특징을 파악하는 것이다. 이 논문은 북한당국의 심리학 목표인 주체형의 공산주의자로서 “논리적 사고력과 사람과의 사업 능력을 소유한 지식경제시대 혁명인재” 양성과정을 드러내고 북한심리학의 모습을 찾고자 한다.
북한심리학 연구는 1953년 이후 사회주의체제 확립 시기부터 2018년 현재까지 북한심리학의 내용과 특징을 나타내는 연구로서 가치가 있다. 본 논문은 북한 교육과 철학, 주체사상의 하위 주제로 주목한 기존의 연구에서 더 나아가 북한심리학의 범위를 재설정하고 그 내용을 입체적으로 구성하고자 하였다.
본 논문은 「교원선전수첩」 2003년 3월 4일자 제1호부터 2018년 6월 22일자 제2호까지 58권의 교육부문 심리학 관련 기사를 연구범위로 한다. 기사 제목을 중심으로 ‘심리학’ 기사로 분류하여 분석을 시도했다. 북한의 심리학 내용을 밝히기 위하여 귀납적 내용분석을 선택하여 개방코딩을 실시하였다. 그 결과 「교원선전수첩」 심리학 기사는 심리학분류, 교육방법, 교수방법, 심리학교원, 교육현대정보화로 구분할 수 있었다. 분석을 통하여 2003년 이후 북한심리학의 특징을 정리하였다.
북한심리학의 전체적 특징을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주체심리학에서 우리 식 심리학으로 변화과정을 드러냈다. 주체심리학에 기반을 두면서 세계적인 교육흐름에 따라 일반심리학을 교육현장에 활용하고자 하는 의도가 나타났다. 이 모습은 심리학 이론에 최신자료를 반영하고 현대적으로 자료를 구축하도록 하였다. 둘째, 교육심리학, 학교심리학, 발달심리학, 실험심리학, 응용심리학을 도입하여 학교교육과정에 반영하고 있었다. 일반심리학의 다양한 도입은 학생의 심리건강을 도모하며 심리평가를 진행하였고 학교심리학자와 학교심리상담사 역할도 나타났다. 심리평가 목적은 사상검증용 도구로 활용하려는 모습도 찾아볼 수 있었다. 셋째, 심리학을 통합적으로 진행하여 사고력과 응용력을 키우려는 모습을 확인할 수 있었다. 심리학 교육과정에서 교원은 ‘자립형 일군’의 모습을 반영하여 심리학 지식을 전문적으로 습득하고 연구하는 의무가 요구되었다.
북한심리학의 내용적 특징을 다음과 같이 발견하였다. 첫째, 북한당국은 일반심리학과 맑스주의 심리학을 비판하며 사회주의심리학과 사회주의아동심리학을 계발하였다. 사회주의심리학과 사회주의아동심리학은 주체사상에 기반을 두었으며 교육과정과 교과목에 반영하여 사상 심리를 강조하는 것으로 파악하였다. 둘째, 북한심리학은 인간의 심리와 의식을 이해하는 것을 넘어 혁명적 세계관 형성과 연계하여 이루어졌다. 이것은 제국주의자의 심리전에 저항하여 우리 식 사회주의를 지켜내고자 하는 의지로 나타났다. 셋째, 지식경제시대 인재양성의 두 축으로 논리적인 사고력과 사람과의 사업능력을 갖추도록 교육하였다. 이것은 학교 졸업이후 일군이 되었을 때 사회․정치적인 문제를 주체사상과 당 정책 관점에서 해결할 수 있는 능력이며 북한주민의 마음을 독려하여 당에 충성하도록 강화하는 것으로 나타났다.
결론적으로 본 논문에서 「교원선전수첩」 기사 분석을 통하여 ‘인간의 심리와 의식에 대한 심리학 지식이 풍부하여 사람을 이해하고 사상이 건강하며 논리적인 사고력으로 북한당국의 요구와 방침을 수행할 수 있는 인재교육’양성 목표에 합당하도록 북한심리학을 구성하여 교육하는 것으로 확인하였다. 이런 흐름은 북한당국이 제시하는 지식경제시대 인재상을 표현하는 것으로 파악하였다. 북한심리학은 인간의 심리와 의식을 강조하여 개인의 심리에 중점을 두는 것으로 보인다. 그러나 사상의식을 강조하는 점을 비추어보면 사회집단의식 강화를 위한 이데올로기적인 형태를 갖추고 있는 것으로 파악된다.
