다문화가정 부모의 양육태도와
자녀의 학교생활적응력간의 구조적 관계 분석

본 연구의 주된 목적은 다문화가정의 부와 모의 부정적 양육태도와 자녀의 학교생활적응력과의 관계를 살펴보는데 있다. 이를 위해 초, 중, 고등학교에 재학 중인 74명의 다문화 가정 자녀와 286명의 일반가정 자녀를 대상으로 직접 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구에서 사용되는 학교생활적응은 민병수(1991)가 개발한 척도를 활용하여, 학습생활, 학교규칙, 친구관계, 교사관계로 나누어 측정을 실시하였다. 부모의 양육태도는 허묘연(2004)의 부모양육태도 척도를 활용하여 다문화가정 자녀가 인식한 부모의 감독, 합리적 설명, 비일관성, 과잉기대, 과잉간섭, 학대, 방치, 애정의 8가지 하위요인으로 나누어 측정하였다. 본 연구에서는 부모의 양육태도를 측정하는데 있어 기존 연구들에서 어머니의 양육태도에만 초점이 맞추어진 제한점을 보완하기 위하여 아버지의 양육태도와 어머니의 양육태도를 나누어 측정하였다.
본 연구에서는 첫 번째, SPSS 18.0를 이용하여 기술통계분석 및 t-검증을 실시하여 일반가정의 부모의 양육태도, 일반가정 자녀의 학교생활적응과 비교를 통해 다문화가정 부와 모의 양육태도의 특성과 다문화가정 자녀의 학교생활적응의 특성을 살펴보았다. 두 번째, 다문화가정 부와 모의 부정적 양육태도와 자녀의 학교생활적응의 관계를 확인하기 위하여 AMOS 20.0를 사용하여 구조방정식 모형을 통해 분석을 실시하였다.

본 연구의 주요결과를 요약하면,
첫 번째, 다문화가정 자녀는 일반가정의 자녀보다 아버지의 양육태도를 부정적으로 인지하고 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 또한, 어머니의 양육태도 측면에서도 부정적으로 인지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. t-검증을 통해 일반가정과 다문화가정을 비교한 결과 일반가정에 비하여 다문화가정 어머니는 긍정적인 양육태도에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 낮게 나타났으며(p<.001), 아버지의 경우도 일반가정에 비하여 다문화가정의 아버지가 긍정적인 양육태도에서도 통계적으로 유의미하게 낮게 나타났다(p<.001). 이를 통해서, 다문화가정의 자녀들은 부와 모의 양육태도에 있어서 일반가정에 비하여 긍정적인 양육태도가 낮게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
두 번째, 학교생활적응에서는 다문화가정의 자녀가 학교생활적응의 네 가지 하위요인 중에서 교사관계를 제외한 학습활동, 학교규칙, 친구관계의 항목에서 낮은 적응을 보였다. t-검증을 통해 일반가정 자녀와 비교한 결과 학습활동에 있어서는 다문화가정의 자녀가 일반가정의 자녀보다 잘 적응하지 못하는 것으로 나타났으며(p<.001), 학교규칙에 있어서도 다문화가정 자녀가 더 잘 적응하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다(p<.1). 교우관계에 있어서도 다문화가정 자녀가 일반가정 자녀보다 적응도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다(p<.001).
마지막으로, 부와 모의 부정적 양육태도를 파슬링(parceling) 기법을 활용하여 요인을 산출하고 구조방정식 모형을 통해 분석을 실시하였다. 다문화가정 어머니의 양육태도로 설정된 학대, 방치의 경우, 자녀의 학교생활적응의 모든 하위요인인 학습활동, 학교규칙, 친구관계, 교사관계에 모두 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구는 국내에서 아직까지 많이 다루지 않은 다문화가정의 중요한 구인인 부모의 양육태도와 자녀의 학교생활적응과의 관계를 확인함으로써 다문화가정의 경우에도 자녀의 학교적응에 있어 부와 모의 양육태도가 중요함을 강조하면서 기술통계분석 및 t-검증을 통하여 실제적으로 다문화가정이 일반가정에 비해 양육조건이 열악하며, 자녀의 경우도 학교생활적응력에 차이가 존재하고 있는 현 주소를 확인하였다. 또한, 구조방정식 모형 분석을 통해 기존 선행연구들과 같이 다문화 가정 어머니의 부정적 양육태도가 자녀의 학교생활적응에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 이런 결과들을 통해, 다문화사회로 변화하는 한국에서 다문화가정 자녀의 학교생활적응을 위해서는 다문화 가정이 안정적으로 유지되어야 한다는 점을 강조하며 이를 위한 효율적인 정책마련에 있어 단초를 제공할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.
