The Effect of Physical Education Teacher's Leadership Type on Middle School Students' Participation in Class Dong Hee Jung Major in Physical Education Department of Education The Graduate School of Education Chung-Ang University The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of physical education teachers' leadership type on female middle school students' class participation. The subjects of the study were selected from 325 students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades of A Middle School in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, and B Girls' Middle School in Nam-gu, Incheon, and the data of 318 valid samples were analyzed, excluding seven copies of data judged to be unfaithful, such as the same number of collective responses and non-response. The survey subjects were asked to fully explain the purpose of the study and the elements of the research process and then distribute questionnaires to respond, and the data collected after the preliminary test was analyzed by conducting a Multiple Regression Analysis using the SPSS 23.0 statistical program. Data analysis results are as follows. First, it was found that the positive reward-type leadership of physical education teachers had a positive effect on the interest in physical education classes of middle school girls. Second, it was found that the teaching and instructional leadership of physical education teachers had a positive effect on the interest of middle school girls in physical education classes. Third, it was found that the teaching and instructional leadership of physical education teachers had a positive effect on the attitude of middle school girls in physical education classes. Combining these results, it was concluded that the type of leadership of physical education teachers had a partially positive effect on the class participation of middle school girls. In follow-up studies, it is necessary to analyze various variables for teaching types and students' physical education classes according to teachers' leadership through professional interviews or participatory observations.
