    This study investigated the work-related stress of police officers to find out how much stress(dividing stress into job stress and traumatic stress) could affect the suicide ideation. The police officers who works in Daegu and in Kyungpook area have participated in this study.
    This study used the depression which is well known as a suicide indicator as a parameter to find out the relation between stress and suicidal ideation. In addition, social support which is protective and preventable factor for suicide has been used as a moderating variable to figure out how it affect between stress and the suicide ideation.

    The result of this study showed that out of total 8 subdivided factors, only role ambiguity and relationship with the boss accounted for the suicide ideation. It failed to explain the relation between job stress and the suicide ideation when use depression as a parameter. And the social support did not work as a moderating variable between stress and suicide ideation.
    For traumatic stress, out of total 4 divided factors, there was only hyper arousal explained the suicide ideation. Traumatic stress and the suicide ideation directly affect each other when depression used as a parameter but they are also affected via depression. It demonstrated that the social support worked as a moderating variable in this process.

    Lastly, this study suggested the need of psychology consulting for the local police officers in Daegu and Kyungpook.
