The Problem-based learning course is nowadays popularized to apply to undergraduate medical education in korea. However, a research on evaluation of educational course conducted after Problem-based learning in Korea is not common.
Therefore, this study describes how Problem-based learning progresses according to certain procedures and stages in School of Medicine in Sung Kyun Kwan University, and it is to clarify whether Problem-based learning brings the effect expected first using qualitative methodologies. To do so, the researcher directly participated in the process of Problem-based learning at School of Medicine in Sung Kyun Kwan University, and various qualitative methods such as interviews and questionnaires as for the research methods have been adopted.
The results from this research shows that the procedures of Problem-based learning conducted in School of Medicine in Sung Kyun Kwan University is very successful and appropriate different from the concern of other medical schools that Problem-based learning is not suitable for Asians. Moreover, it also shows that the effect intended to be generated from students by carrying out Problem-based learning in School of Medicine in Sung Kyun Kwan University came into existence.
