      皇淸職貢圖 제작 경위와 조선 유입 연구 = The Historical Background of Huangqing Zhigong Tu and Introduction to Joseon

      Huangqing Zhigong Tu is the picture of tributary countries and subordinated peoples during the Qianlong reign (1736-1795) of the Qing dynasty. It produced two versions, hand scrolls and wood-block printing type, from 1761 to 1805. Huangqing Zhigong Tu is consisted of figure images and their explanations. These images and explanations written by Manchu and Chinese described the prosperity during the Qing Dynasty, as well as the various customs of tributary countries and all ethnic minorities. Four hand scrolls copied by Xie Sui are good references for the original.
      Joseon people are the first picture to appear in the Huangqing Zhigong Tu, and they depicted the people influenced by the Confucian culture. By comparison, the image of Joseon procession in Zhuyi Zhigong Tu by Qui Ying in Ming Dynasty described as uncivilized people.
      Huangqing Zhigong Tu of wood-block printing type introduced to Joseon by tributary envoys. Whanyeong Chohyeong Gimun at the National Museum of Korea is a color painting album copied two sections of Huangqing Zhigong Tu. Its picture explanations offered trade relations and the distance between the foreign countries and Canton Macau allowed only for foreign trade zone at that time. Whanyeong Chohyeong Gimun is quite similar to the painting style of the export paintings of custom theme in Canton. It could be brought to Joseon by tributary envoys coming and going to Beijing, China.
      The seal of Min's well-stocked library in Whanyeong Chohyeong Gimun proves that the work is one of Yeoheung Min's collections. The painter name Jin Jaehae written in its colophon is illogical, because Whanyeong Chohyeong Gimun based on Huangqing Zhigong Tu painted after Jin's death.
