다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the history of psychotherapy music was a therapeutic tool thatinduced altered state of consciousness. The induced trance state bymusic that appeared in commonly in shaman ritual, hypnosistherapy and GIM can be explained in terms of therapeutic point ofview on psychological, physiological and aesthetical level. Inshaman ritual the content of cultural belief of the community wasexpressed through music and this brought psychological liberationand empathy. On the other hand, in 19th century mental medicinemusic or sound that induced hypnotic state was considered asphysiological stimulus that induced an altered state of consciousnessthrough excitement of sensory organ. Finally, themusic in GIM was used to explore a patient’s spectrum ofconsciousness wider and deeper as well as to give aestheticexperience.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

음악은 정신치료의 역사에서 의식의 변성을 유도하는 치료적 도구였다.
주술의식, 최면, 심상음악치료에서 공통적으로 나타나는 트랜스 상태는치료적 관점에서 심리적, 물리적, 미학적 측면에서 설명할 수 있다. 주술의식에서 음악은 공동체의 문화적 신념의 내용이 음악을 통해 표현됨으로서 심리적 공감과 해방을 통해 치료적 효과를 가져 온다. 반면 19세기정신 의학에서 최면 유도 음악 또는 소리는 물리적 자극제로써 감각의흥분을 통해 의식의 변성을 유도하였다. 마지막으로 현대 심상음악치료에서 음악은 환자의 의식의 스펙트럼을 좀 더 깊고 넓게 여행하게 하며동시에 미적 체험을 하게한다.
