    Koguryo tomb murals contain various research topics due to the geographical location both in China and in North Korea, the modern materials remaining from the early 20th century during the Japanese colonial time period, the possibility for the corporation of South Korea and North Korea in the excavation and the preservation of the murals, the open cultural channel from ancient Korea to Eurasia, etc.
    The recently excavated Koguryo tomb murals and Chinese tomb murals provide us with lots of new materials to delve into figure out the Northern and Cental Asian features in the funerary art.
    The foreign elements of the Koguryo murals have been discussed since 1959 from the article published by Do Yuho, the re-known North Korean archaeologist who participated at the excavation of Anak tomb No. 3. The relations with Chinese funerary art have been more widely studied. Recently, the Central Asian related elements in Koguryo murals and the Central Asian studies in general have been broaden more and more even to explore the relation along not only the Oasis Road but also the Steppe Road.
    The current paper first examined the state of field on the relation of Koguryo murals and the Northern and Eurasian arts, and then proposed the possible research topics to pursue in the future.
