본 연구는 부모의 양육행동이 남녀청소년의 외현적 공격성과 우울에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 2,444명이며, 한국청소년정책연구원의 초등학교 4학년 패널 5차년도 자료를 사용하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과를 살펴보면, 여학생이 남학생보다 부모의 지지와 우울을 높게 나타냈으며 반면에 남학생이 여학생보다 부모의 학대를 높게 나타내고 있었다. 부모의 높은 학대와 심리적 통제는 남녀청소년의 외현적 공격성을 증가시켰지만, 높은 감독은 여자청소년은 외현적 공격성을 감소시켰다. 부모의 높은 감독은 남녀청소년의 우울을 감소시켰지만, 부모의 높은 학대와 심리적 통제는 남녀청소년의 우울을 증가시켰다. 부모의 높은 지지는 남자청소년의 우울을 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 부모의 학대와 심리적 통제가 남녀청소년의 외현적 공격성과 우울에 영향을 미쳤으며, 올바른 부모양육을 위한 프로그램과 청소년 상담프로그램에 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대한다.

This study examined the effects of parental behaviors on overt aggression and depression among adolescent boys and girls. The data from 2,444 adolescents(at wave 5), taken from the 2008 Korean Youth Panel Survey(KYPS) was analyzed using hierarchical regression. The findings indicated that girls reported higher levels of parental support and their depression than boys, whereas boys reported higher levels of parental harsh discipline than girls. Higher levels of parental harsh discipline and psychological control increased boys' and girls' overt aggression, whereas higher levels of parental monitoring decreased girls' overt aggression. Higher levels of parental monitoring decreased boys' and girls' depression, whereas higher levels of parental harsh discipline and psychological control increased boy's and girls' depression. Higher levels of parental support decreased boys' depression. Findings suggest that parental harsh discipline and psychological control affected overt aggression and depression among adolescent boys and girls. Implications to appropriate parental behavior programs for parents and counseling programs for adolescents were discussed.
