    This paper aims to analyze the social ·cultural ·physical aspects of the large indoor spaces such as a atrium and galleria, and to propose the guidelines of a indoor public space in view of urban design.

    1. Analize the forces and factors that shape the large indoor spaces of the mixed-use developments in downtown area.
    2. Review the possibilities of the application as a indoor public space.
    3. Evaluate the successful examples of indoor public space in view of urban contexts.
    4. Propose the design guidelines of atrium as a indoor public space.
