국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고에서는 무당을 종교적 지혜의 체험과 전승의 장인 신앙공동체의 유형에 따라 분류해 본다. 먼저, 지혜의 담지자인 신앙공동체의 형성을 고찰한다. 그리고 나서, 그공동체 안에서 삶의 지혜를 몸소 체험하고 전승시키는 종교 전문가의 모습을 살핀다.
한국의 샤머니즘에서 강신무 지역에서는 인물 위주의 단골판이 형성되면서, 지혜의 체험을 중시한다. 세습무 지역에서는 지역 위주의 단골판이 형성되면서 지혜의 보존과 전승에 비중을 둔다. 이렇게 신앙실천을 통하여 구현되는 우주적 지혜를 판별한 다음, 또다시 새로운 지혜의 체험을 갈망하는 인간 본연의 모습을 찾아본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this article I try to categorize shamans according to the types of belief community. In which the religious wisdom is experienced and succeeded. Firstly, the formation of belief community as wisdom holder is examined.
After that, I investigate profoundly religious experts who personally experience and succeed the wisdom in the community. Belief communities could be classified in two different types. Those are in one hand charismatic personal community, and in other hand priestly territorial community.
In the Korean shamanistic world are also established two different types of belief community[dan’golpan]. Namely the charismatic personal community is established by possessed shamans. They attach great importance to the experience of the wisdom. And the priestly territorial community is established by hereditary shamans. They attach great importance to the maintenance and succession of the wisdom.
In the next step I give attention to the essential meaning of the religious wisdom which would be realized in the practice of faith. At the end it is pursued that human being always has the universal quality looking after renewed experience of the wisdom.
