Jaganghoe is the Scholarship Foundation, founded by Cheondogyo organization executive in Tokyo, who just finished studying, with the cooperation of Japanese maintainers to support Korean students in Japan, especially Cheondogyo high school students during 1924~1941. The background of the establishment was the massacre of Korean during the Great Kanto Earthquake that occurred when ‘Japanese-Korean harmony’ Slogan was prevailing. Representatives from various fields of finance and politics, such as Japan's leading conglomerates, were able to consistently provide scholarships to selected high-educated students by supporting the financial foundation as executives or support members. It is also characterized by the fact that most members of the Korean Board of Directors, who have the right to enroll international students, are either studying in Japan or graduates and active in Cheondogyo.
