예술가와 과학기술 분야 전문가 간 협업 조직의 성과평가 지표에 관한 탐색적 연구
민지은 한국전시산업융합연구원 2023 한국과학예술융합학회 Vol.41 No.4
This paper aims to propose an indicator to evaluate the performance of collaboration between artists and experts in the field of science and technology that can serve as a basis for expanding public support for the convergence of art and science. To suggest the indicators, first, we discussed the areas of collaboration between artists and experts in science and technology according to their subjects and purposes. Second, we defined collaborating organizations between artists and science and technology experts from an organizational perspective, and proposed criteria for indicators that can serve as a basis for measuring creative collaboration performance. The performance of a collaborating organization with artists, and science and technology experts should be evaluated based on both the outputs and the collaborative process. Traditionally, the evaluation of creative outputs is assessed with novel and useful. On the other hand, there is no consensus on performance measures for processes that influence creative collaboration outputs. In the case of uncertain and interdependent contexts, such as those involved in the convergence of art, science, and technology, the extent to which individuals fulfil their roles during project execution affects organizational performance. The results of this study will contribute to expanding the field of interdisciplinary collaboration by providing a basis for supporting collaboration between arts and science and technology. On the other hand, this study serves as exploratory research that proposes criteria for performance indicators, and further research should be conducted to develop and validate the indicators in terms of their validity and reliability.
미디어 아트에서 예술과 과학의 혼성(Hybridization)과 융화(Syncretism)의 현상 연구
김현주 한국영상학회 2010 한국영상학회 논문집 Vol.8 No.1
This article features the hybridization and syncretism phenomena in the media art by reflecting on its history. By introducing Consilience theory of Edward Wilson and Syncretism of Roy Ascott, the collaborative relationship of art and science in the emergence of early media art is exemplified and categorized. Concentrating on the contemporary media art practices, the influence and the meaning of science and technology was argued. The research was based on Christian Paul's "medium as theme" in which he introduced contemporary media art practices influenced by the themes stemmed from science and technology, including information theory and posthumanism. It is found that media art, by its nature, is very intimated related to science and technology. Media artists also reflect on scientific theme and phenomena in their work taking science and technology as a theme rather than a tool, demonstrating the hybridization and syncretic aspect of media art in relation to science.

This treatise is on the collaboration for ecosystem between Helen Mayer Harrison and Newton Harrison, pioneers of ecological and environmental art. The Harrisons have become world-renowned for using art to tackle environmental problems on a global scale. They maintained separate careers until the end of the 1960s. Newton as an artist, and Helen as a sociologist as well as an educator. In 1970, they decided to put the two careers together and to do no work that did not include the environment. It was a lifetime artistic decision. Then Helen and Newton began their artistic collaboration that would last for the next half-century. The Harrisons are famous, but surprisingly little-known artists. This study comes from the basic question, “Who are the Harrisons?” This involves the following three questions: What kind of career have Helen and Newton each made? How did the two develop their collaboration? Why did they choose art for the ecosystem? Following the chronology, this essay examines the development process of their artistic collaboration and explores their motives for collaboration for the ecosystem. This will clearly reveal the Harrisons, who have made the collaboration itself a successful work of art on an existential level.
AI와의 협업이 업무 수행자의 유능함 평가에 미치는 영향
구지은 한국마케팅관리학회 2026 마케팅관리연구 Vol.31 No.2
AI technology is now advancing on a monthly basis rather than a yearly one. Companies increasingly infuse AI every domain to reduce costs, and this makes humankind to face their job losses. Nevertheless, a prevailing idea holds that human-AI collaboration can generate greater synergy than AI automation that replaces human. Reflecting this perspective, much research has explored how to design human-AI collaboration to increase consumer adoption. The current research examines the effects of human’s input resource(effort vs. talent) and task characteristics(art vs. science) on consumers’ evaluations about the competence of human. The empirical research shows that competence evaluation deteriorates when a talented human works with AI(vs. working alone) in artistic task(e.g., fashion designer). However, when a human puts his effort in artistic task, working with AI does not negatively affect consumers’ competence evaluations. In contrast, competence evaluations decline when a hard-working human collaborates with AI on scientific task(e.g., physician) whereas this negative effect does not occur when a talented human works with AI in scientific task. Further, as consumers’ evaluations of human’s competence improve, their willingness to do business with the human also increases.
Music from Second Sound: How Advanced Physics Inspired Der Rufer for percussion quartet
Michael Edward Edgerton(마이클 에드워드 에저튼) 한국전자음악협회 2023 에밀레 Vol.21 No.-
This report will discuss how principles from the advanced physics of cryogenics influenced my composition Der Rufer for percussion quartet. In this paper I explain how I translated information and concepts from superfluid helium (He II) to music composition. Achieved using different methods ranging from purely intuitive to quasi-quantitative, I transferred the following eight principles from ultra-cold physics into organized sound, including: anisotropy, isotrophy, vortices, vortex rotation, bifurcations, mutual friction, turbulence past an obstacle, and second sound. Written for Professor Olaf Tzschoppe, director of the Bremen Percussion Quartet, this work is the first result of a planned long-term collaboration with J.G. Weisend II, a Deputy Head of Accelerator Projects at the European Spallation Source (E.S.S.).
