This study examines the challenges faced by international students in South Korea’s design education system, focusing on a single international graduate school as a case study. Using a mixed-methods approach that includes surveys and focus groups, the research identifies systemic barriers such as limited English-taught courses, language accessibility challenges, and insufficient career support. These barriers significantly impact international students’ academic satisfaction, integration into the local educational system, and their ability to connect with cultural and professional networks. The study culminates in a design project presented as both a student report and a strategic planning proposal, offering actionable strategies to address these issues. Key recommendations include increasing English-language course offerings, fostering intercultural collaboration among students, and implementing culturally inclusive support services that connect local and global design perspectives.
