Objective : Herb-drug interactions have become an important issue because of the consumption of herbal remedies has increased in the world. Yangguksanhaw-tang (Liang ge san huo-tang) and Taeumjowi-tang (Tai yin tiao wei-tang) are typical herbal formulas on Sasang constitution medicine (four-constitution medicine). This study was aimed at evaluating the effects of Yangguksanhaw-tang and Taeumjowi-tang on drug metabolizing enzymes, cytochrome P450 (CYP450) isozymes. Methods : Vivid$^{(R)}$ CYP450 Screening Kits were used to measure of CYP3A4, CYP2C19, CYP2D6 and CYP2E1 activities. This method is based on the use of fluorescent CYP450 substrates that are efficiently metabolized by specific CYP450 isozymes to yield a product with altered fluorescent properties. The percent inhibitions of CYP450s by herbal formulas were calculated. Results : Yangguksanhaw-tang inhibited CYP2C19 and CYP2E1 activities higher than that other CYP450 isozymes. The $IC_{50}$ values of CYP2C19 and CYP2E1 were 159.83 ${\mu}g/mL$ and 261.40 ${\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The CYP2E1 activity was inhibited ($IC_{50}=215.17{\mu}g/mL$) higher than that other CYP450 isozymes by Taeumjowi-tang. Conclusions : These results suggest that Yangguksanhaw-tang may inhibit the metabolism of co-administered drugs whose primary route of metabolism is via CYP2C19 or CYP2E1. Taeumjowi-tang could inhibit the metabolism of co-administered drugs, which are substrates for CYP2E1. Therefore, co-administration of the herbal formulas and other conventional drugs should be undertaken with care.
통시적 원형경관 해석을 통해 본 강진 백운동 원림의 복원 방향

In this study, the original scenery of Baegun-dong Garden in Gangjin was compared with that of the reconstructed site to suggest directions for restoration in the future. The diachronic prototype scenery of the Baegun-dong Garden was derived by integrating the elements of the original and contemporary prototype sceneries from the old poetry series. The old poetry series is comprised of "Baegun-dong 8Yeong(詠)" by Lee Damro(李聃老), "Baegun-dong 10Su(首)" by Song Ikhwi(宋翼輝), "Baegun-dong 12Gyeong (景)" by Jeong Yakyong(丁若鏞), and "Baegun-dong 14Gyeong" by Lee Siheon (李時憲). Guidance for directions for future restoration was suggested through a comparative analysis between the diachronic prototype scenery of Baegun-dong Garden and the current scenery of the restored site. The research result is as follows. First, the prototype scenery of Baegun-dong Garden was a harmonic view composed of the camellia forest road, 'Baegun-dong' the letter carved on a rock, a cliff 'Changhabyeok(蒼霞壁)' the red letter written by Jeong Yakyong, paulownia trees, waterfalls and a maple forest. Outside the Byeolseo(別墅), there were a red plum blossom forest, a pine forest, and a bamboo forest, as well as the view of Okpanbong(玉版峯) from Jeongseondae(停仙臺). In the yard, there were Chwimiseonbang(翠微禪房), Jug-gak(竹閣), Pyeongsang(榻), a lotus Bangji(方池), Gogsugeo(曲水渠) and Hwagye(花階). Cranes were even raised in the yard. Second, comparing the diachronic prototype scenery of Baegun-dong Garden with its restored site, following a restoration guide is suggested. There should be more water flow in Baegun-dong Valley and Jug-gak should be restored. 'Changhabyeok' the red letter should be carved on the stone wall. Trees should be controlled for a better view of Okpanbong from Jeongseondae. More trees and plants, such as red plum blossom, pine tree, paulownia trees, azaleas(映山紅), chrysanthemum, orchid, daffodil, and lotus should be planted in the yard. A system of integrated guide boards is also required for effective information transmission for visitors.
산본신도시와 김포한강신도시의 공원·녹지체계 비교로 본 경관특성 고찰

In the late 1980s, 5 newtowns of stage 1 were constructed in the outskirt of Seoul and in 2000s, 12 newtowns of stage 2 were constructed or under construction. The method of development differs between the stage 1 newtowns and stage 2 newtown. The former took 'development first, and then planning' method and the latter took 'planning first, and then development' method. This research aims to compare the park and green system of Sanbon Newtown of Stage 1 and Kimpo Hangang Newtown of stage 2 and observe the townscape characteristics of each town. First, to analyze the park and green systems of newtowns, based on the theoretical study on parks and greens, 3 items of analysis, 'the type of park and green system', 'the type of pedestrian environment' and 'the type of open space', were deducted. 1. The 'park and green system type' is limited because Sanbon Newtown could not capitalize on the townscape resource of Sanboncheon since it was covered and planned as a central road in the traffic movement scheme. It is also not consecutive but disconnected because neighborhood parks were dispersed in 'disparate type' point system using Surisan. In contrary, Kimpo Hangang Newtown actively capitalized on townscape resources and the parks and greens were arranged in 'radial type' and 'circular type'. 2. In terms of 'pedestrian environment type', many pedestrian areas or areas which induce walking exist in Sanbon Newtown, so it can be seen to have a linear park and green system with high pedestrian accessibility and connectivity. 3. Regarding 'open space type', Gimpo Hangang Newtown was revealed to have many community spaces with various kinds of parks and disperse squares with fine views. Parks and greens in Sanbon Newtown are categorized simply as parks, greens, and other areas but Gimpo Hangang Newtown has a variety of other areas such as running ponds, streams, and reservoirs along with parks and greens, which means that open spaces using the existing townscape resources have increased. Follow-up research on how the perception of the citizens of newtowns on the park and green system and townscape images differ from the original scheme and measures to maintain the frame of townscape as a specialized park and green system for newtowns based on behavioral analysis on actual citizens using parks and greens is needed.


공원녹지계획에 있어서 시민참여정책의 변화 : 서울, 인천, 대구, 울산, 부산을 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to grasp the current status of resident participation that is gradually being activated in the administration of parks and green areas, and to find a desirable direction for resident participation through the problems. As a research method, the current status of residents’ participation in park and green administration in the 1990s and 2000s was identified based on the park and green area policies of five cities. After that, the differences in resident participation policies between cities were compared. Based on this, the participation of residents in the park and green area administration was compared in terms of subject, stage, and institution. The analysis results show that, unlike in the 1990s, in all five cities, residents’ participation policies were diversified in the 2000s park green space plans. Specifically, first, in terms of the participant, it was confirmed that the passive participation system according to the needs of the administrative agency was gradually expanded to active participation by the residents themselves. In the past, the leading role of external experts has been reversed, and administrative agencies and external experts, centered on citizens, play the role of facilitators. Second, workshops and public hearings, which were formal in terms of the participation system, are still being held, but various participation systems and communication channels have been established. Lastly, in terms of the participation stage, participation in the existing park management stage is applied not only to the park planning and design stage, but also to the higher level policy stage. In the future, a link between citizens, administrative agencies, and external experts is needed in order to revitalize resident participation policies in park and green administration. For example, local communities and regional design centers that can connect residents and administrative agencies could play a role.

This paper analyzed the distribution of representative landscapes that appeared in the records and citizen’s perceptions for jinju city, a small town that was a large city in the past. This aims to present clues for preserving and utilizing the original city center of a declining city. As a research method, existing literature data of jinjumok, which was the four major towns of Gyeongsang-do along with Sangju, Gyeongju, and Andong in Joseon Dynast. As a research method, the contents of the media left as records were analyzed by recognizing the contemporary landscapes, such as ancient maps, oral literature, eight gyeongs, 10 gyeongs, 12 gyeongs, and ancient literatures depicting pearl trees in the Joseon Dynasty. As a result of the analysis, historical landscapes such as Chokseokru, Bukjangdae, and Jinjuseong were dominant in Jinjuseong, while natural landscapes such as Bibongsan, Daesangji, and Seonhaksan, which played a central role as the main mountain in the Fengshui Geography, dominated. The southern part of the Namgang River is a popular area called Seopcheon, the farthest from the Eupchi power of Jinjumok, and Mt. Among the representative landscapes of Jinjumok during the Joseon Dynasty, the central area that includes all of the natural, historical and living landscapes is the Nam River. The banks of the Nam River, including Uiam, Daesup, and White Sand, served as a link between the Bukchon and Namchon of the Nam River. The results of this study are expected to be able to present clues for preserving and utilizing the original downtown area of Jinju, a historical city that is changing according to the historical flow, and is expected to be used as basic data to contribute to the formation of Jinju landscape identity.

Objectives: This study evaluated activities and ingredient contents concerning extracts according to extraction solvents of Insampaedok-san (IS, Renshen bai du-san), Methods: The herbal constituents of IS were extracted with water and 70% ethanol at 100°C for 2 hr. Using the HPLC system, the six ingredient contents of different solvent extracts of IS were analyzed. The nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production and proinflammatory cytokines were measured in RAW264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC/CCL22) and regulated on activation normal T-cell expression and secreted (RANTES/CCL5) production were measured in HaCaT and BEAS-2B cells stimulated tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interferon-γ (IFN-γ). The activities of glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) and leptin level were measured in 3T3-L1 cells. Results: The calibration curves showed good linearity (r2=1.0000) for different concentration ranges. The contents of liquiritin, naringin, hesperidin, neohesperirin and glycyrrizin in 70% ethanol extracts of IS were relatively higher than that of water extract, however the content of ferulic acid in 70% ethanol and water extract of IS were similar. The extraction solvents of water and 70% ethanol were evaluated inhibitory effect on the production of NO, PGE2, TNF-α and IL-6 in RAW 264.7 cells. Their extractions were inhibitory effect on production of MDC/CCL22 and RANTES/CCL5 in HaCaT cell and BEAS-2B cell, respectively. In addition, evaluated reduced on GPDH activity and leptin level in 3T3-L1 preadipocyte cell. Conclusions: Our results suggest that IS extracts were inhibitory effects of disease such as inflammation, allergies and obesity.

Objectives : To provide the information of efficacy for Sagunja-tang (Sijunzi-tang; SG), it was evaluated the anti-inflammatory effect. SG, a widely used herbal formula in tranditional Korean medicine, has been used to treat for the Boki-invigorating. In many studies, plant-derived anti-inflammatory efficacies have been investigated for their potential inhibitory effects on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages. This study was performed to examine the anti-inflammatory effects of SG extract on LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Methods : The productions of nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin (PG)$E_2$, interleukin (IL)-6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-$\alpha$ were examined in a macrophage cell line, RAW 264.7 cells, in the presence of the SG extract. RAW 264.7 cells were incubated with LPS $1\;{\mu}g/mL$ and SG extract for 18 hours. The anti-inflammatory activity of SG was investigated by carrageenin-induced paw edema in rats. The paw volume was measured at 0, 2 and 4 hours following carrageenin-induced paw edema in rats. Results : SG extract showed inhibitory effect on $PGE_2$, IL-6 and TNF-$\alpha$ by LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. But SG extract was not inhibitory effect on NO by LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. And administration of SG extract (1 g/kg) showed a reduction in carrageenin-induced paw edema on rats. Conclusions : These results suggest that SG extract has anti-inflammatory activities in vitro and in vivo models.

1. Objectives 4 herbal formulas (Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang, Yeoldahanso-tang, Cheongsimyeonja-tang and Taeeumjowi-tang) were applied to investigate the anti-inflammatory activities. Results Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang and Cheongsimyeonja-tang showed inhibitory effect on $PGE_2$ production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells and a reduction in carrageenin-induced paw edema on rats. Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang showed inhibitory effect on IL-6 in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. 4 herbal formulas not affect on NO and TNF-${\alpha}$ inhibition in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. 4. Conclusions These results suggested that Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang and Cheongsimyeonja-tang have anti-inflammatory activity.
