The existence of appropriate teaching materials in foreign language is very essential especially if it is related to safety. Among them, the importance of textbooks is more emphasized because there is no suitable education or curriculum for EPTA (English proficiency test of aviation). A good textbook not only presents the right direction to study but also provides an efficient way to learn. This research exploded how well textbooks for EPTA are organized and analyzed current pilots' responses whether the textbooks are suitable for preparing EPTA through the questionnaire. The conclusion drawn is that textbooks for EPTA should be designed to encourage current and pre-pilots to learn how to communicate with controllers efficiently and briefly, and also should provide proper guide lines for preparing EPTA.

Charles Lindbergh has experienced the uncontrolled situation of the aircraft while he was asleep with open eyes during his Atlantic crossing flight around 20 hours after departure from the New York in 1927 because of the fatigue. According to the NTSB(National Transportation Safety Board) reports, about 40 incidents are related fatigue in each year. The sleep loss is the most wanted item for the NTSB and may cause the similar effect as the alcohol does. The fatigue may affect the management of the threats and errors especially during take-off and landing. In this study, threats and errors of major accidents that NTSB analysed fatigue as a causal factor will be identified in order to understand the seriousness of fatigue. 찰스 린드버그는 1927년 뉴욕에서 출발한 후 약 20시간 동안 대서양 횡단 비행 중 피로로 인해 잠든 동안 항공기가 통제되지 않는 상황을 경험하였다. NTSB(National Transportation Safety Board) 보고서에 따르면 매년 약 40건의 준사고가 피로와 관련되어 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 수면 손실은 알코올과 비슷한 효과를 유발할 수 있으며, NTSB에서 꾸준히 조사 중에 있는 부분이기도 하다. 피로는 특히 이륙 및 착륙 시 위협 및 오류 관리에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구에서는, NTSB가 일반적인 요인인 피로를 분석한 주요사고의 위협과 오류를 식별하고 피로의 심각성을 이해하고자 한다.

A Study on the Influence of Flight Trainees’ Stress on Flight Immersion and Abandonment

Stress refers to various body reactions that occur when humans are stimulated by environmental conditions. The quality of education and flight skills can suffer if flight trainees are constantly subjected to high stress, even in the case of flight trainees, and as a result, it can harm becoming a pilot. It is therefore the aim of this study to identify stress factors (flight training, career, financial support, relationships with family and teachers) that student pilots face, to determine how these factors affect flight and academic immersion and abandonment, and to improve the quality of flight education.

The importance of human factors has been emphasized for pilots because most of aviation accidents have been caused by the human factors of pilots. Human factors issues such as fatigue affecting flight safety are needed to be educated to student pilots who have less experience in flight training. In order to prevent aviation accidents caused by human factors, the management of stress, fatigue, and obsessive-compulsive disorder which increase psychological harmful factors of student pilots, is essential for aviation safety. The management of fatigue is required as a part of safety management system following the guidance of leading aviation authorities. The purpose of this article was to investigate the factors of fatigue at each stage by classifying it into before, during, and after flight training to manage the fatigue of students pilots. Then, the factors of relatively high fatigue were analyzed by using the AHP process to provide factors related fatigue affecting pilot training.
비행경로에 따른 훈련용 항공기(C172)의 소음 분석 및 대책

This study has been conducted for current situation of and countermeasures for aircraft noise. Aircraft noise is difficult to control, because of its wide-range effects, and it needs a great deal of funding for noise prevention like removal airport or land purchasing. And, in effort of determine whether aircraft noise can have health effects such as hearing loss, hypertension and psychological stress. This study, which uses of noise data around flight training airports in Korea, tries to understand and confirm related laws and regulations, and present civil application and situation of countermeasures. And, by measuring data of flight training airport, the situation of training aircraft noise problem have tried to confirm. To overcome these limitations and establish appropriate measures against noise, we made noise map with INM version 7.0, FAA aircraft noise prediction program, and evaluated aircraft noise. In particular, the FAA’s Integrated Noise Model(INM) is widely used by the civilian aviation community for evaluating aircraft noise impacts in the vicinity of airports. We analyzed noise impact by applying several scenarios. As these analysis, we suggest flight route without overlapping with residential area and without affecting flight safety. 소음은 인간의 신체적, 정신적, 사회적 건강을 침해할뿐더러 두통과 의욕상실을 유발하고 정신 및 육체적 능력의 감소, 수면방해, 청력상실과 소음난청 등의 원인이 된다. 항공기 소음은 영향범위가 광범위하게 나타나고 비행경로, 비행환경에 따라 그 영향범위도 변경된다. 또한 특정지역에서 지속적으로 발생하며 순간적으로 주변소음보다 높게 나타나 심리적, 정서적인 영향도 수반되기 때문에 그 피해를 정량화하기에는 어려운 것이 현실이다. 본 연구의 소음분석은 훈련용 항공기가 운용되고 있는 훈련 비행장으로 많은 비행운용으로 인해 인근 지역주민들이 소음피해를 호소하고 있으며 이에 따른 민원이 제기되어 있는 지역이다. 훈련 비행장의 특성상 많은 기종이 운용되고 있고 운항횟수 및 운항형태 또한 매우 다양하고 불규칙하여 그 소음피해의 정도를 실제 측정으로 파악하기에는 현실적으로 어려움이 존재한다. 또한 훈련 비행장에서 운용되는 모든 기종의 항공기가 소음피해를 유발하고 있다고 생각할 수 없기 때문에 소음피해를 유발하는 기종을 실제 측정으로 파악하기에는 많은 시간과 경비가 소요될 것이다. 이러한 현실적 한계를 극복하고 적절한 소음대책을 수립하고자 미연방 항공청에서 사용하는 항공기소음 예측 프로그램(INM 7.0)을 활용하여 새로운 비행경로를 제시하여 소음지도를 작성하고 소음 피해에 대한 해결책을 찾고자 한다.
