Contractual issues for Endorsement contract in modern Sports Marketing

One means of capitalizing on the athlete's public recognition is to market the athlete through selectively acquired and carefully negotiated endorsement contracts. An endorsement contract is essentially an agreement pursuant to which an athlete licenses to another party the right to use the athlete's name and image in connection with the advertisement of products or services. The increase in quantity and severity of risks for the endorsement contracts is a product of various factors, namely the evolution of the athlete endorsement industry in terms of size and customer appeal. As a result of these changes, corporations are forced to place greater emphasis on hedging such risks through tougher negotiation and enforcement of long‐dormant contractual provisions. Several agreements illustrate the practical roles of corporate protections once an athlete has acted in a manner inapposite to the company's will. The changes occurring in the athlete endorsement arena and the associated risks have led to one inevitable conclusion: tougher contractual provisions, notably a forceful morals clause, may be the supreme safeguard for corporate endorsees. In the future, morals clauses may help to prevent prolonged embarrassment or obligation to maintain a valueless asset such as an immoral, unmarketable athlete. Additionally, companies may select alternate endorsers and determinations of athlete value in their sports marketing campaigns. Companies will increasingly need to be aware of the potential detriment an endorsement deal gone bad can have on a brand.

토마스 아퀴나스의 조명이론

Divine illumination was the most influential alternative to naturalism in the medieval theories of cognition. The theory holds that human beings require a special supernatural assistance in their ordinary cognitive activities. It was most closely associated with Augustine and his scholastic followers. This theory came to seem increasingly old-fashioned as the thirteenth century progressed. Thomas Aquinas is often thought of as the figure most responsible for putting an end to the theory of divine illumination. Futhermore, he is often regarded as an advocate of naturalism in the theory of cognition. I deal with the question of whether or not these assessments are correct. In offering a negative answer, I wish to argue that he does not give up a special role for God in human cognition. 인간이 스스로 진리를 알기보다는 신의 특별한 도움을 구해야 한다는요지의 주장들 가운데 조명이론은 13세기에 이르기까지 중세의 지배적인인식이론이었다. 아우구스티누스가 원류라고 평가되는 조명이론은 점차적으로 아리스토텔레스에게서 파생된 추상이론으로 대체되는 경향이 나타난다. 이런 경향성을 대변하는 인물로 토마스 아퀴나스를 꼽는다. 심지어 그는 중세 인식이론에서 조명이론을 사라지게 한 장본인이라고 평가되기까지 한다. 이 글은 이런 평가가 정확한지를 검토하기 위해 다음과 같은 질문을 제기한다. 토마스는 조명이론을 전적으로 폐기하는가? 인간이 외적 세계를인식하는데 있어 어떠한 신적 개입도 필요치 않은가? 이 물음들을 통해 토마스의 인식이론은 세계 안에 작용하는 어떠한 초자연적인 작용자도 인정하지 않는 자연주의의 틀에서 보기 힘들다는 해석을 개진할 것이다.

IIP2-improved Frontend Receiver using a Mismatch Compensation LNA

In this letter, a second-order intercept point (IIP2) improved frontend receiver by compensating the differential mismatches is proposed. The mismatch compensation at the LNA makes the relative variation of the IIP2 to be less sensitive to the channel frequency and differential mismatch from the external components. The frontend receiver achieves an IIP2 of >56 dBm for all frequency bands without calibration. The IIP2 calibrator is designed with a digitally-tunable resistor, which increases the IIP2 of >68 dBm and reduces IIP2 variation of <10 dB. The proposed frontend receiver has a gain of >38 dB and NF of <3.6 dB with current consumption of 24 mA from a 1.8-V supply. The frontend receiver is fabricated using a 130-nm CMOS.

학교 밖 청소년의 사회적 낙인감이 음주행동에 미치는 영향: 우울과 충동성의 매개효과를 중심으로

This study’s purpose is to verify the social stigma’s influence on alcohol use among out-of-school adolescents and the mediation effects of depression and impulsivity. Using an analytic sample of about 450 out-of-school adolescents from the 2nd wave of the Panel Survey of School Dropouts, this study conducts data analyses with the Process macro method. The results are as follows. First, the social stigma of out-of-school adolescents positively influenced alcohol use. The risk of having alcohol use increased by about 2.3 times when social stigma increased by one level. Second, out-of-school adolescents’ impulsivity single-mediated the influence of social stigma on alcohol use. However, such single mediation effect was not found for out-of-school adolescents’ depression. Third, out-of-school adolescents’ depression and impulsivity serially dual-mediated the influence of social stigma on alcohol use. Social stigma increased depression, which in turn increased impulsivity and finally increased the risk of having alcohol use. This study provided empirical evidence that social stigma is a risk factor for alcohol use, and discussed diverse intervention ways.

대학생의 자아정체감 지위와 정신건강 관련 연구

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of college students’ ego-identity status on their mental health, depression and anxiety. Seven college students in Gyeongsang-do and Jeolla-do were surveyed, and frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS 20.0. The level of depression and anxiety by ego-identity status was confirmed in college students. As a result of the analysis, first, the higher the diffusion status, the higher the moratorium status, and the lower the foreclosure status, the higher the depression was significantly. Second, the higher the moratorium status and the lower the achievement status, the higher the anxiety. Based on the results of the study, it is necessary to establish a mental health management system and to prepare a differentiated intervention strategy according to the ego-identity status of the college students.

인간 영혼의 불사성 문제로 본 중세철학과 르네상스철학의 연속성-아베로에스와 폼포나치의 비교를 중심으로

It is widely acknowledged that Averroes and Pomponazzi each were one of the most important Aristotelian philosophers in the Middle ages and Renaissance respectively, and their views were both equally a menace to Christianity. This paper aims to show the continuity between medieval and Renaissance philosophy by focusing on Pomponazzi's critique of Averroes. Pomponazzi argues that Averroes’s so-called monopsychism is not a correct interpretation of Aristotle’s De anima by appealing to the Aristotelian maxim that the soul never thinks without imagination. Despite of their differences in interpretation, both of them give a negative answer in dealing with the question of whether the human soul can be both the form of the body and the immaterial principle of thought, which provoked many of the leading philosophical controversies of the Middle ages and Renaissance. They are similar in the way that they deny the soul’s immateriality and immortality while accepting the fact that the soul and the body make a single, unified substance. Thus, it is my contention that they share the common belief that the individual immortality of the human soul cannot be philosophically proved.

The Mediation Effect of Positive Gambling Attitude and Speculative Experience in the Influence of Irrational GamblingBelief on Problem Gambling Among MZ GenerationsJaekyoung Lee & Raehyuck Lee Abstract: This study aimed to verify the influence of irrational gambling belief on problem gambling among MZ generations and the mediation effect of positive gambling attitude and speculative experience. Based on the raw data from the study on the speculative experiences of online gambling and Internet gaming conducted by the Korea Center on Gambling Problems, this study analyzed data with the Process macro Model 6. The findings are as follows. First, MZ generations’ irrational gambling belief had a positive influence on problem gambling. Second, the influence of irrational gambling belief on problem gambling was mediated through each of MZ generations’ positive gambling attitude and speculative experience. Third, MZ generations’ positive gambling attitude and speculative experience dual-mediated the influence of irrational gambling belief on problem gambling. This study investigated that dealing with irrational gambling belief is needed to address problem gambling among MZ generations, and suggested diverse intervention strategies. 대학의 진로지원서비스와 진로결정효능감 관계: 성취적 자아정체감의 조절효과

본 연구의 목적은 대학의 진로지원서비스와 대학생의 진로결정효능감 관계에서 성취적 자아정체감의 조절효과를 검증하는데 있다. 7개 대학에 재학중인 대학생 308명을 대상으로 분석하였고, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째 대학진로지원서비스 중 정보적 서비스와 정서적 서비스가 진로결정효능감에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 대학생들이 정보적・정서적 진로지원서비스를 많이 받을수록 진로결정효능감이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성취적 자아정체감은 정서적 진로지원서비스와 진로결정효능감 사이에서 조절효과를 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. 연구 결과를 토대로, 대학생들의 진로결정 효능감을 증진하기 위한 대학진로지원서비스의 방향성에 대해 논의하였다.
