Biohydrogen is a clean and efficient source of energy produced easily by anaerobic systems. Therefore, thediscovery of novel and efficient production methods and utilization of inexpensive starting material are crucial for economicalbiohydrogen production. In this study, novel hydrogen producing bacterial strain Clostridium sp. SH25 wasscreened from the anaerobic sludge obtained from a water treatment plant, which showed a higher hydrogen-producingactivity on glycerol than other strains. The effective hydrogen production was evaluated under varying anaerobicculture conditions, and the optimum temperature, initial pH, additional NaCl concentration, and inoculum size were37 oC, 6.0, 0%, and 10% (v/v), respectively. The cumulative hydrogen production volume from crude glycerol was24.30±1.07ml after 36 h. To test the practical application of biohydrogen, a 20ml culture of Clostridium sp. SH25 wasincubated for 12 h and directly applied to a small hydrogen car unit operated for 19.05±0.33 s with 8.37±0.21m displacement. Overall, identification of the efficient Clostridium sp. SH25 strain resulted in the production of a largeamount of biohydrogen, which further supported the operation of a small hydrogen car. This implied a possible applicationof biosystems in biohydrogen production.

Capacity-price Competition with Consumer Non-participation

We study markets where consumers make irreversible participation decisions before observing actual prices, resulting in a truncated demand curve that is unresponsive to price reductions below a threshold p. Our central contribution is to introduce this truncated demand into the capacity-price competition framework of Kreps and Scheinkman(1983). We establish a threshold result: when the participation constraint does not bind, the standard Cournot outcome obtains; when it does bind, the equilibrium price equals p and firms endogenously restrain capacity to avoid aggressive price competition. Therefore, an increase in p —reflecting a thinner consumer base—leads to a higher equilibrium price: firms restrain capacity investment so that the market clears at p, which removes any incentive to price below p. This may create a self-fulfilling dynamic: pessimistic expectations about prices deter participation, which in turn justify the pessimism.

임란 직후 통제영의 전라도 막하인물 연구 – 『통영 세병관 좌목』에 나타난 출신지 와 활동, 지위를 중심으로 -

통제사 이순신이 임진왜란 주요 해전을 승리로 이끌어 국난을 극복하는 중요한 역할을 한 데에는 함께 전투에 참여하거나 군수물자를 지원하는 등 맡은 바 직분을 수행한 막하인물들의 활약이 있었기에 가능하였다. 임란 당시 통제영은 경상도 · 전라도 · 충청도 3도 수군의 연합이었으나, 주력이 전라좌수영 수군이었다는 점은 이미 널리 알려진 사실이다. 그만큼 해당지역에 연고를 가진 전라도 출신 막하인물들의 활약도 매우 컸다. 하지만 이순신의 노량해전 전사와 임란 직후 통제영이 경상도로 이전하면서, 전라도 출신 막하인물들은 잊혀지거나, 관련 자료의 부족으로 종전 후의 활동을 파악하기 힘들었다. 『통영 세병관 좌목』은 통제영의 객사인 세병관에 게시된 통제사와 그 막하인물의 성명과 출신지, 직임을 차례대로 기록하고 있어, 임란 직후 통제영 막하들의 출신지와 지위를 파악할 수 있으며, 이들의 성명을 통해 임란 당시 활동을 알아볼 수 있는 실마리를 제공한다. 통제영이 경상도로 이전한 지 10년이 지난 광해군 3년(1611) 제9대 이경준 통제사 휘하에서 전라도 출신 막하인물들은 1/3 이상을 차지하였으며, 이는 서울[京]이나 통제영 소재지인 경상도 출신보다 훨씬 많은 숫자라는 점이 관심을 끌었다. 게다가 이순신이 쓴 『난중일기』와 『임진장초』에 기록된 전라도 출신자 김희방, 송상보, 신홍수, 위대기, 유섭 등은 임란 직후 통제영에서 2회 이상, 지속적인 근무 양상을 보였다. 이에 임란 직후인 선조와 광해군대에 제작되어 현존하는 5대 柳珩, 9대 李慶濬, 11대 成佑吉, 14대 柳止信 통제사 휘하의 전라도 출신 막하에 대하여 전라도 내 출신지와 그 특징, 임란 당시 활동, 지위를 파악하였다. 전라도 출신 막하인물의 출신지와 임란 당시 활동을 찾기 위해 『난중일기』와 『임진장초』, 『이충무공전서』를 비롯하여 『조선왕조실록』, 「무과방목」, 『호남절의록』, 『읍지』, 『족보』, 사우 배향 등을 찾아보고, 전문가로부터 자문을 받기도 하였다. 전라도 막하인물의 전라도 내 출신지는 23곳으로, 이 가운데 흥양(오늘날 고흥)과 순천, 장흥 3곳에서 다른 곳보다 더 많은 인물을 배출하였다. 또한 유형과 이경준 통제사 휘하에서 해남과 남원 출신자들이 한꺼번에 근무하는 경향을 보이는데, 이는 통제사의 官歷과 연관되어 특정지역 출신자가 많아지는 양상을 보여준다. 임란 당시 이순신 휘하에서 전투에 참전하거나 군수물자를 지원하는 등 이순신과 관련된 인물들이 2/5 가량으로, 임란 직후 통제영의 주축을 이루었다. 그런데, 권율 휘하의 육군이나 의병 활동, 선조의 어가나 광해군의 분조를 호종한 인물도 상당수 확인하였다. 이는 수군 본영인 통제영이 수군뿐만 아니라 육군과 의병, 호종을 한 인물까지 다양한 경험과 이력을 가진 막하 인물들로 구성되었음을 보여준다. 임란 직후 통제영에서 武官職을 절반 이상 맡았으며, 前郡守 등 지방관을 역임한 인물들이 한 부류를 차지하였다. 訓鍊院 직제로 기재된 인물이 2/5에 달하는 특징도 확인했는데, 이는 임란 당시 활약한 勳功을 인정받았다고 추정할 수 있다. 무관직과 지방직, 훈련원 관직자 가운데 정3품 당상관과 종6품 참상관의 비중이 매우 높으며, 전라도 출신 막하인물 가운데 4/5 이상이 임란 직후 통제영에서 지방수령(종6품 현감) 이상 고위직에 올랐다. 이를 통해 전라도 출신 막하인물들이 조정으로부 ... Admiral Yi Sun-shin(李舜臣) saved the country from crisis by leading the major naval battle of the Imjin War to victory. There were Subordinates(幕下人物) who participated in the battle or supported supplies. 『Tongyeong Sebyeonggwan Jwamok(統營 洗兵館 座目)』recorded the name, the place of origin, and the title f the shogunate person posted on the Sebyeonggwan, Tongjeyeong(統制營). Tongjeyeong was The Navy Haedquarter of Three Provinces in the Joseon Dynasty. Accordingly, the 5th Admiral Lyu-Hyung(柳珩), the 9th Admiral Lee Kyung-joon(李慶濬), the 11th Admiral Seong Woo-gil(成佑吉), and the 14th Admiral Lyu Ji-shin(柳止信) controller were identified. In order to find this, I looked for Nahn-Jung Diary(亂中日記), Annals of the Joseon Dynasty(朝鮮王朝實錄), Mugwabangmok(武科榜目), and others. I received advice from an expert. There were 23 places of origin in Jeolla-do. Among them, more Subordinates were produced in three places: Heungyang(興陽), currently Goheung(高興), Suncheon(順天), and Jangheung(長興). During Imjin War, there were about 2/5 people related to Yi Sun-shin. Some people who were related to General Kwon Yul(權慄) or engaged in volunteer activities(義兵) were also identified. and escorted the king(國王 護衛). More than 50 percent of the commanders(武官職). also many local government officials(地方官) and Hunlyunwon(訓鍊院). They were recognized for their contributions(勳功) during after Imjin War. This research found that people from Jeolla-do(全羅道 出身 幕下人物) were highly appreciated by the Joseon court for their Activity, during tafter Imjin War. It was an opportunity to see that the Tongjeyeong is composed of figures from various backgrounds after Imjin War.
